Cultural Racism
Cultural racism is all of the ways in which traditional European and white views dominate our thinking.
This report defines and explores issues of white privilege and racism in community building work. The authors examine how we go about improving and bringing resources into communities that can sometimes reinforce existing power struggles and deepen racial inequality.
We must hold diversity, inclusion and equity to the same rigor and standards that we hold other foundation processes and operations. They are not add-ons – rather, these efforts must be integrated into an organization’s policies, practices, programs and community building efforts.
