Nicki Mann is responsible for overseeing the Foundation’s financial reporting process, including the annual audit, compliance audits, ongoing accounting operations, investment accounting, accounts payable, payroll, internal controls and grant compliance. Nicki prepares and monitors the Foundation’s administrative budget and develops financial and other reports for management and the Board of Trustees. She interprets and applies technical accounting guidance and advises on financial, tax and legal issues affecting the Foundation. Nicki manages systems and processes related to this work and provides guidance on compliance matters as well as key financial and operational best practices.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Nicki spent nearly seven years at T. Rowe Price in several roles within its CFO Group. At T. Rowe, Nicki was a driver of continuous process improvement and modernization. She led the General Accounting team for four years, serving as a lead on several workstreams on its Oracle Cloud implementation, including the general ledger and Account Reconciliation Cloud workstreams. She also led the Global Client Invoicing teams and served in the Financial Planning and Analysis department, supporting the Global Technology-Infrastructure business unit.
For many years, Nicki also created and presented an accounting case study on behalf of T. Rowe Price for an Accounting 101 course at the University of Maryland Smith School of Business, her alma mater.
Previously, she worked at the regional accounting firms Hertzbach & Co. and Sacks Trotta Koppelman (acquired by Hertzbach in 2010) for 13 years, starting as a staff accountant and rising to senior manager, specializing in audits of health care and nonprofit organizations, employee benefit plan audits and valuation services. Nicki received a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Maryland College Park and is a certified public accountant.
