Jeffrey Poirier, Ph.D., is the director of Wraparound Supports for Economic Success in the Center for Economic Opportunity, where he focuses on systems and practices that help youth and young adults navigate supports and resources, such as public benefits, to meet their basic needs and achieve their education, employment and financial goals.
Poirier was a senior associate on the Foundation’s Research and Evaluation team from 2016 through February 2023. In that role, he led equity-focused research and evaluation investments and helped shape the Foundation’s learning practices. His work has addressed issues such as adolescent development, child welfare, education, employment, financial stability, homelessness, juvenile justice, mental health and youth engagement.
Prior to joining Casey, Poirier worked as a researcher at the American Institutes for Research for more than 15 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s in education policy and a doctorate in public policy and administration from The George Washington University.
